Disability Awareness Workshop
In collaboration with CCI, Langloch Farm
The aims of this workshop are to develop skills and knowledge of appropriate interaction, to reflect on and understand the impact of disability (including mental and physical health) on people’s lives and how we can reduce this. It discusses primarily the social model of disability and what we can do to break down barriers which cause this. This is an interactive workshop which lasts 2.5 hours.
“The Disability Awareness workshop led by Lauren was perfectly tailored to the needs of our organisation.
Drawing from both personal and professional experience, Lauren presented with warmth and a great depth of understanding. The material was fresh, interesting, interactive and enriching, which encouraged a high level of interaction, participation and enthusiasm among attendees.
Lauren presented a very positive attitude towards disability and generated fantastic discussion on ways to break down barriers and promote inclusion. Attendees left feeling better informed, confident and motivated to take things forward.
The workshop will give you tools to start this process in your organisation. This is a perfect workshop for staff development, whether you are working in a care setting, education, public or private business sector. This course is relevant to everyone.”
